If you are like me, laundry isn’t your favorite activity. Most of us can’t afford to hire someone else to do it (maybe one of these days!), so this Tuesday we’ve got a few tips to help you to make that necessary task just a little easier.
- Sort clothing as it comes out of the dryer and have each family member fold their own, assuming they are old enough to do so.
- Don’t do laundry unless you know you have the time to fold it and put it away too, reducing how long piles of clean clothes stick around.
- You save electricity (and therefore money) by doing multiple loads of laundry in a row. The residual heat in your dryer from the previous load keeps it from having to work hard to reheat.
- Paint your laundry room a fun color. Your guests will probably never go in there, so be creative. A cheery laundry room makes it a little easier to do the work!
- Make sure your clean clothes have a home! If your closets and dressers are full and there is no space to put clean clothes away, it might be time to purge!
- Use wall space, if available, to hang your ironing board & iron and free up floor space.
